I've been looking at satellite images of District heights for a article I'm working on. Looking at the town to try and figure out where the wetlands are. People assume there aren't any wetlands inside the beltway in a older well-established high density neighborhood sort of a town, but they're there. The other thing you see is that it's a very different environment than parts of Bowie. One place that attracts a lot of attention is woodmore which is a former plantation owned by Governor Oden Bowie. Currently there are dozens possibly hundreds of black millionaires who own homes in woodmore. One of the things that struck me is that the majority of the homes are now bigger and grander and far more comfortable than the plantation house for the woodmore plantation. I think that's pertinent. At woodmore country Club. It's not unusual to be around very wealthy and black billionaires. So it's a very different neighborhood inside the beltway and outside the beltway and we just can't look at them all the same way. So I keep studying Maryland and Prince George's County and the further I go the more I see. It's a fascinating area. My family landed in Maryland in 1659 at Port Tobacco so we have a long history there. After years of studying the Middle East and Southeast Asia, I find studying the politics of a state is not that much different. Except nobody ever gets really mad at me. At least not mad enough to try and kill me, which is a big improvement over places like Iran and Afghanistan and the surrounding countries.
