The Governor’s Energy Guy Joins Cornerstone
Saif R. (Rutul) was Wes Moore’s deputy legislative officer, the governor’s energy point man in the legislature. Now his LinkedIn reads Principal, Cornerstone Government Affairs, Annapolis, with a headline claiming energy, transportation, and infrastructure. Cornerstone is the firm that represents Anduril Industries and Pepco in Annapolis. Rutul holds the principal title with zero client registrations on the books so far, in Maryland or, as far as can be determined, anywhere else.
The move is worth a closer look for two reasons: Rutul himself, and the firm he joined, which is not a typical Annapolis lobbying shop.
