Good for her. We need energy like that to get rid of really harmful legislation that is killing all eastern shore counties—and all 18 officially designated rural counties.

TPA2008 - a pre iPhone App Store statute is a budget and marketing gravy train to Ocean City and five DC adjacent counties.

The tourism apparatus in Maryland is in structural collapse and a few actors have captured even the sector’s trade association. The county by county DMO (23 of them) tourism model is a relic from the 20th century.

Same for the Alcohol Manufacturing and Promotion Commission - 3 million a year captured by the alcohol trade associations - and missing Commission meeting minutes - no grant evaluation process or paperwork - just rubber stamped for a few preferred actors.

The eastern shore’s Chesapeake Wine Trail - a cross county agritourism asset and public investment just rots on the vine. Same for the Southern Maryland Oyster Guide: a public investment openly rotting on the internet.

The Maryland Tourism Development board remains in breach of statute and has not filed a strategic tourism plan since 2015: 60 million + in ultra vires spending.
