Carmen, I saw your shameful and evil comment. I want to be very clear about something — as a Christian, and as someone who has spent a lifetime working alongside Jewish friends, neighbors, and colleagues, I cannot let this kind of rhetoric pass without a response.
There is nothing wrong with criticizing the government of Israel. There is nothing wrong with condemning Benjamin Netanyahu’s decisions, or the conduct of the IDF, or the devastation in Gaza. Many Israelis themselves do exactly that. I’ve said publicly that I oppose Netanyahu’s leadership, just as I can love my own country while condemning the actions of its leaders.
But what you’re doing here is something very different.
When you start talking about “hunting” American Israelis…
When you start celebrating the idea of “Holocaust survivors’ descendants” being imprisoned or executed…
When you collapse millions of individual Jewish people into a single category of collective guilt…
That is not anti‑Zionism.
That is antisemitism, full stop.
And it is morally reprehensible.
We can debate policy. We can debate governments. We can debate military actions. But the moment you shift from criticizing what people do to condemning who they are, you have crossed a line that history has shown us — again and again — leads nowhere good.
I will always defend the right to criticize any government, including Israel’s. But I will also always stand with my Jewish brothers and sisters when rhetoric turns into dehumanization and collective punishment. That is not justice. That is not solidarity. And it is certainly not the path to peace.
We can be better than this. We must be. Being a progressive is not in and of itself a bad thing. But when you’re so far to the progressive left the ultra progressives that you’re calling for hunting down American Jews, then you are so far over the line that I am concerned for you.
Thank you for calling out such clear Jew-hatred. Yes, it's one thing to strongly criticize the government of Israel -- as do many American Jews and, for that matter, Israeli Jews.
It's another thing to condemn the Jewish people, let alone espouse the dangerous sentiments expressed here that I don't even want to type out.
