Thanks again for reporting on this. Why was Burroughs Jr's father attendance considered a stunning twist? I'm lost here, and what job does he currently have that prompted people to ask, "What does he actually do?” and then conclude that he has a "A work‑from‑home, no‑show job."
The story doesn't explain this bit of information at all. What's the backstory?
It's pretty simple. Ed's father has been on the payroll for a while and he's not listed anywhere by the county. They normally list all their employees so if you want to know if somebody works for the county you could just go look it up except for Edward Burroughs Jr. Who doesn't show up but I'm told by people who work for the county that he is getting a paycheck but nobody knows what he does. If County employees don't know what he does then we have to ask. Does he do anything at all or why is he getting a paycheck? Is this a payoff for Aisha giving the job to him to pay off? Edward, the son?
Ahh, got it. I do now vaguely remember reading something about the father some time ago, something about him getting a job in the administration despite having a criminal record. I forgot about that and I think it was during the pandemic when I read about it, and during Alsobrooks' administration. And yes government salaries are public record unless a particular position requires a public disclosure exception. Question - have you submitted a FOIA request to Braveboy's office asking whether or not the elder Burroughs is on the payroll and what his position, grade and salary is?
