In an era when democratic values should be non-negotiable, Congresswoman April McClain-Delaney’s recent voting record tells a different story:
🟥 She voted to detain undocumented immigrants charged with minor theft under the Laken Riley Act, aligning with far-right enforcement tactics.
🟥 She supported sanctions on the International Criminal Court—just for pursuing accountability in war crimes.
🟥 And she opposed an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, even as civilian lives hung in the balance.
Each vote tells voters one thing: the establishment will bend toward pressure, even when the moral compass points elsewhere.
The last Democratic primary in MD-06 was competitive—but not fair. Candidates like Destiny Drake West inspired grassroots momentum despite being outspent and outmaneuvered by party elites desperate to preserve the status quo. Her message resonated—justice, community, sustainability—and she gained ground quickly, without the luxury of deep-pocketed donors.
But in 2026, the next Democratic primary returns to the 6th District.
The question becomes:
Will the voters forget these missteps?
Or will they demand a candidate who doesn’t compromise on principle, even under pressure?
Destiny Drake West captured attention once.
