Such a well-written article replete with much deserved compliments for Speaker Pena-Melnyk. And what a rebuke of the sickening political machine that is so prevalent in Annapolis!
I've written about politics on an almost daily basis since 2013. The speaker is one of those people who I have been wrong about. Now as I'm getting a huge amount of information on her and analyzing it and trying to figure out why she does what she does, it very quickly became obvious that she's a good person. That's not one of the traits that you expect in somebody involved in Annapolis politics. You don't expect them to be kind and generous and caring about their fellow men. Whether they're in the same political group or not. Suddenly, I realize the only way I could explain the things that she had done was because she's nice. We don't really have a meaningful Republican party in Maryland, so we end up with two factions of the Democratic party, the moderate s and the progressives. She's a progressive but she's been very nice to some of the moderates and that's what gave me the clue that she was acting out of kindness. Go figure 🙂
