As Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore, Solomon has become one of the most quietly influential figures in the Maryland House of Delegates, shaping legislation from the inside out.
🧠 Origins: From Suburban Philadelphia to State Leadership
Born in 1985 and raised in suburban Philadelphia, Solomon’s intellectual formation was rigorous and layered. He earned a B.A. in political science, history, and economics from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a Master’s in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and a semester at the London School of Economics.
Before entering politics, Solomon taught social studies at Northwestern High School and later worked as a project coordinator for DC Public Schools. These early roles grounded him in the lived realities of policy—where legislation meets the classroom.
