Is this the non profit that took the women to New York to see a Broadway show? I agree we need to help but only with essentials. If they want to go to NY hold a bake sale, raise the money. It is time these non profits are held accountable.
HER Resiliency Center at its very core is a charity and a non-profit. To do its job. It raises money from a great many many avenues, not just state funds. One of the groups that partners with them invited one of the women to an event in New York. When you have a group that's partnering with you and does much to help your women, you really can't ignore their invitations. So one of the women did go to New York City but it was not at state expense. I believe that the group that invited her paid her way but it was not at all State money. I think it's a testimony to the efficacy of HER Resiliency Center that a woman formerly on the streets of Baltimore in a continuing crisis situation was able to pull herself out with the help of the group and then go to New York City to appear as a special guest at an event. It's more like a fairy tale than anything at all negative. I'm proud of the work they do to help those women and I'm glad to lend any help I can whenever possible. This group takes women at risk and turns them into taxpayers.
